Main thing with balancers is to be careful if it's a two-piece that has rubber, strippers can hurt it. Second thing is to make sure that if you paint anything that spins, that it has as even of coats as you can humanly get. Little thing called balance.

It's not recommended to paint radiator cores because it can reduce the heat transfer ability. But you can paint the tanks.

I don't see a big need to strip them, just clean them up really good, and run over them with a red scotch-brite pad. then just hit 'em with some paint

that's all I did, and it came out fine

but yeah, I wouldn't reccomend painting the radiator

I didn't worry too much about them. A little over spray got in them, but it's not like it matters, cause the belt is going to rub the paint off the inside of the groves anyhow no matter HOW MUCH you prep the surface, of WHAT paint you use

thats what i figured. thanks. so pulleys definitely, haven't made up my mind about the fan blade yet. radiator is out unless i can find the eastwood paint outside of being online:

http://www.eastwood.com/eastwood-rad...ack-paint.html

http://www.eastwood.com/ew-radiator-...in-finish.html

Still not sure on if i should paint the fan clutch or not.

Balancer I guess I can paint.

Putting a new crank in and I am not sure if i should get new keys or not, but having difficult time getting the ones out of the old crank.

I'm assuming we aretalking about the 22r engine you have listed in your sig. Plastic fan, right???

Soak it, clean it, de-skank it. Plasic primer and then the color of your choice.

On my 22re I haven't gotten THAT far yet , but when I replaced the radiator and hoses on my son's '88 4runner 3vze, we did paint the fan......prepped just like I said and then we found a can of paint intended for chrome (it's transparent paint), red, and when we did it up it came out looking like a piece of candy. Like a cherry cough-drop. Looks good enough to eat.

From this........

To this.........

And if your question was to "paint" the radiator?? I never would. Just spend the $100 and get a new radiator....was the best money I've spent so far and probably the easiest repair I've done too.

My son's radiator, old and new.....

and mine.........

A new radiator adds peace of mind, whether or not you really needed one, but after years of service, invariably, something will be wrong with it, so just do it.

And a red fan adds 15 horsepower....LOL.

Oh yeah, P.S.

The radiators are SPECTRAs from JcWhitney.

IAMSUPERBLEDER has the same one.

I thought yellow added HP. I guess I'm covered cause I have both colors. No wonder it's so fast.

ACTUALLY, my Spectra radiator came from Advance Auto Parts, for right at $100

and I also didn't have to worry about painting my fan and clutch, cause well, I did away with it
