22re cam bolt

i cant get the bolt on the end of the cam off so i can take the gear off to remove the timing chain then the head. i cant find a 'flat spot' on the cam to stop it from turning....

maybe put a screw driver in the sprocket and then turn the bolt?

just put a long breaker bar on the crankshaft pully and put her up against the driverside frame rail and then take off the cam bolt or if you dont have one long enough or an exta set of hands i got mine off with a screwdriver through one of the holes in the cam gear up against the rocker arm assembly

SHOULD be the cam bolt as its only tourqued to 55 flbs and the crankshaft is supposed to be 116 but ya never know what some other guy did, good luck and you should be able to put a pretty short breaker bar to the floor

bah that sucks, i had to do mine cuz i messed up started out getting the timing right so i took the t-cover off then when i put it back on i messed up the head gasket so i went and got a head gasket then when i was re-tourqing i bent a valve and broke a valve guide....so i just now got the head back from the machine shop with a new valve and valve guide...lmao so my lil 10 dollar 2 hour endevor ended up costing me like 3 weeks and close to $160 bucks...(i tried buying another head and it was the wrong one) so yeah i feel your pain!
