have any of you guys did a missing link set-up on a yota...
or what do you guys think about it...i am allright fabing stuff togther...gust wanna hear about it befor i start buliding...thanks...

WTF is a missing link setup?
I've heard of 5-link, 4-link, 3-link, y-link, all kinds of stuff, but never heard that one.
I did a dual triangulated 4link for the rear of my 4Runner ... came out well

Is that the double shackle setup:

If so, most folks find there are better solutions on the Toyota, notably longer springs. Double shackle may be viable if you have very short springs, like on a Zuk, and have no other option, and can live with their drawbacks.

has anyone did a missing link on a yota...i am thinking about doing one and would like to know what you guys think about it...i have one on my sami and love it. it has alot of flex...i am thinking the same with my yota...(lots of flex sounds good) do you guys think it will work good...i started the project but now think about it more...

its an extra shackle attached to the top of the original shackle that allows the axle to drop even more...its common on the suzuki's here a link...

got it... NO idea why it would be called a missing link.... when you ADDING something.. yes, it can be done, i have it on mine and i love it.

How long is your top (drop) shackle?
i am thinking about making it kinda of long to get more flex...you think it will work...

Flex, especially dirty hooker droop flex is overrated.
It looks impressive as hell in pictures, but there is no spring force driving the axle down to provide actual traction. The ONLY think it is good for IMHO is to "catch" the vehicle as the weight coes back over to that side to have a more controlled descent instead of just "falling" and then having shock damping.

Note that "dirty hooker flex" is indeed a technical term the desert guys use to describe a lot of poorly controlled articulation - usually in reference to the Ford twin beam suspension that dramatically changes camber angle as the wheels travel, frequently causing them to hook an edge when the suspension is drooped.

their is still traction with thees...not as much as coils but it can go about the same places coils can...(and maby more) haha... hay and thanks Tofer for the pic and info...and what kind of springs do you have on that 4 runner...by the way its nice...

weld um...i used 2inch heavy duty spacers...
paint um green
made new shackles one n a half inch longer than stock...
they work kinda good...hay i got a open diff and a broken front end...(2wd...now if only i had a str8 front...)
some creepy creeper joints would be good in hear...
the front tire is not tucked in...i never lift the truck from the a arm...
ten inches eye to eye...
what do you guys think...
i will try to get a video as soon as i put my motor back togther...doing a rebuild of the 20r that was put in by the previous onwer...go figure...
