PAIR Reed System Removal

I already have my EGR blocked off and I drive less than 5k miles per year. I am emissions exempt in my state and I was wondering if anyone has their PAIR system removed. I do not have headers or anything like that so I am sure I will have to fab up more block off plates. Reading the FSM, all this does is:

Just seeing if anyone has removed/blocked this system off successfully and their truck still runs fine. Just wanted to remove what I can to get rid of clutter and possible vacuum leaks.

Although I have performance cams, headers and 2.25" exhaust with no cat, I have no EGR, or PAIR.

I'll take some pics on what to remove.

I noticed a bit of a "backfire" but i had no exhaust system at all. It ended at the headers. Now I don't notice or feel backfiring of any sort.

Do it!

I removed mine when I installed my headers. No noticeable gains or side effects. Pretty easy to do.

See, you guys have headers! I am not at that point...yet LOL

I have a Magnaflow hi-flow cat, so maybe that would help with some of back pressure that may build up. Either way pictures would be awesome! You guys are the best.

Funny, I've been trying to figure out a way to ADD back pressure into my exhaust system. The exhaust noise is horrid....

Do you still have your cat?

P.S. Just got my AISIN Hubs in the mail. Can't wait to rebuild them then throw them on my Runner!

No cat, which is part of the problem. I probably need to get that thing put back on.

Steel wool, a metal kitchen sink strainer and a hose clamp fixed my noisey exhaust lol. Looks kinda funny, but sounds waaaay better.

Hah yea, I usually have a lot going on between summer-fall. It's drag racing season for me so I have to put a lot of my efforts into my track car. Still haven't removed it!
