hello everyone am a happy owner of a 1987 4runner. u just got into wheelin and i cant get enough of it. I have a bad tranni my reverse slips out of gear. according to a this site i have a A340E. I found another tranni that came of an 86 pick up. it has my same tranni but its and automatic. how hard is it to swap it. i don't know much about trannies. ill appreciate all the feedback.

 

The A340 is an auto....

 

i have a manuel 5 speed right now and the one i found i an automatic. will it work.

yeah so you dont have the A340.

 

just find another 5spd.... or rebuild yours. If its slipping out of reverse, you might wanna check the shifter seat and bushing before you spend big $ on a tranny.
