Signal Peak/Eagle Lakes/Fordyce trip, June 28th (Norcal)
Me and some guys from my local 4WD club, Trailbusters, are plannin on goin up to run the Eagle Lakes trail and then from the Eagle Lakes trail to Fordyce till the first creek crossing. And possibly run signal Peak (I've never been on Signal Peak. On a 1-10 scale, Eagle Lakes and Signal Peak is are an easy 4-5 and Fordyce is a difficult 10, but the little section we'll be going on would probably rate as an 8. Not really any requirements rig wise except attachment points for Eagle Lakes/Signal Peak. Fordyce will need 31-33's, a locker, and at least sliders. However, if you have a winch and you're on 31's, open, and want to be dragged through a couple spots and you're comfortable behind the wheel on rocks, you could make it. 31's and a locker would probably be ok too. Here are some pics from the last time I went. Bring spare parts, and recovery equipment etc....CB highly recomended!
This could possibly be a campout on Saturday night so we can start early Sunday, but the whole trip is still in the works
Driveshaft Hill on Eagle Lakes (bypass available other than that nothing real "extreme")

Fordyce

Awesome! So far if you can go it's just you and me. If no one decides to go and you can't, I'll probably go to the FOTR cleanup, but I don't know anything about that except that it's on Saturday and Sunday and I don't wanna go up by myself lol

You'd be fine with just a rear locker and 33's, but that is a pretty big jump if you only have 31's and are open/open it's possible to make it, but you'd have to be strapped/winched out from the creek, getting out is the problem lol I sent some pm's out to some other people, if they end up comin maybe you could hop in one of their rigs?

As stated on the Squaw Ridge thread, if you do change the rout to exclude Fordyce. I may go on this trip, money is not as bad as before sense I am now making an extra $268 a month. The one question i have now, its dated for a Sunday so im thinking that a one day trip is doable ? im sure I would not be the only one who would need to be back for work on Monday, I do work swing shift so that always helps.

So Let me check one more time with the guys that are a maybe for the trip and if they don't think they can make it we can just do Eagle Lakes/Signal peak. And yeah its for a day trip on a Sunday and it's totally doable in a day! You could even run Eagle Lakes to the first creek crossing at fordyce and back then run up Signal peak in a long day. So we'd have plenty of time to get ya back to work on Monday.

There's great full service camping at the Cisco Grove CG and abundant free camping in the woods after you head down the dirt road towards the Fordyce Trail Head. Try Indian Creek Campground or any of the dispersed site along the water.
