HIDs and LEDs Installed!!

Installed a McCulloch HID kit and Led parking lights where my turn signals used to be, signals are now in the corners. All I had to do was swap connectors. Tell me what you think...

The bulbs in the once blinker lights are 30-led white bulbs from superbrightleds.com. Don't remember they might be 3157, whatever fits the stock connector. I just switched the stock connectors out.

Look good just make sure you check the aim on the new HIDs... with the higher output that is critical so you don't blind oncoming drivers...

From ebay. You can get them at xenondepot, xenonking etc.. but you have to get the H4 conversion housings first.

Hey Street, I am doing the same mod. Do your blinkers blink really fast now that your using the parking lights as blinkers? Mine are. Can this be corrected?

Ya need to swap out ur flasher relay to a relay that can cycle normally with the led bulbs u can get them from Autolumination.com
http://autolumination.com/equalizers.htm
Just look there were it says Toyota by the relay to see if it looks like the one in ur truck.

When u install hids u loose ur high beams/unless u get the Hi/lo bulb kits usually cost a little more but are worth it. On low it directs most the beam down and hi switches the beam pattern to a wide beam.

Hi/lo KIT you say? Not just a bulb that has two intensities? Like 55/100?

HID projector head lights are generally not dual intensity (55/100) but generally use a small motor or solenoid to move the lamp in the housing thus changing the beam pattern from hi to lo. This is one reason why HID installs are sometimes problematic. You must be spot on in installation and aiming or you run the risk of blinding oncoming drivers.

You can get HID H4 replacement lamps that are dual output from some suppliers. Some other methods used to get dual output in an H4 type lamp are the solenoid/motor method mentioned above and one mfg. uses(used?) a solenoid moved shade to redirect the light but I have not seen any ads from that chinese company for quite a while (the shade was reportedly problematic and prone to failure so it may have been dropped).

I ordered my h4 housing yesterday so I'll have hids installed on the baby runner next week. FYI I just set up a new vendor for hids so I have a full range of hid lights forsale now. I'll post pics as soon as I get them installed
