lexus v8 adapter

Anyone know of someone in the states building an adapter for the 1uz-fe v8 to the r150f? I found that monster performance builds them but ive been emailing them for a week solid and cant get a return. Im hesitant about spending a thousand dollars without at least talking to someone. Ive also seen waterjet diagrams on ebay to adapt the original auto bellhousing to the r150f trans but again id like to talk to someone whos done it and then im still out the flywheel. Im not to thrilled about getting all this stuff from australia with the shipping prices the way they are. There has to be someone over here doing this stuff at a reasonable price. HELP!!

Here here! I'd love to adapt an alloy v8 to my poor, tired pickup. Give it some "pickup", so to speak....

I bought my adapter from Phil Bradshaw in NZ. I was trying not to buy anything out of the states, but his adapter was the cheapest option I found. IIRC, it was $200ish shipped which I found to be extremely reasonable. I contacted him @ PHILIP.BRADSHAW@nzdf.mil.nz originally, but he replied to me @ PJIReply@slingshot.co.nz .

Obviously you will need to come up with a plan for a slave cylinder whether it be custom mounting or a hydraulic throwout bearing.

Monster Performance is Superrunner from the forums and he has not made bellhousings for years.

For the flywheel, I am planning on having a local machine shop modify a 3VZE/R150F one to work, I have just not had it done yet.

With that adapter what other modifications are needed?

Do you use the 1uz auto bellhousing? Is there any modification needed to your input shaft? Is this to mate the 1uz to a r150f?

As far as I know superrunner still sells flywheels for the conversion.

I swear if somebody made a bolt in bellhousing for this swap we would see a crapload of conversions pop up.

Seeing how you can already buy mounts, flywheel and most everything else needed. With a 3" body lift I hear you can clear the stock manifolds too

There are bolt-in bellhousings such as the ones available @ A1 Turbos, CRS, & Dellow, but they are not cheap (A1 was the cheapest when I researched). Note that the slave cylinder may be located on the opposite side on these bellhousings due to the vehicles being RHD over there.

With the bellhousing adapter you do use the 1UZFE auto bellhousing which is why you need to do something custom for the slave cylinder bracketry or use a hydraulic throwout bearing like the Howe unit.

My stock SC400 manifolds hit the upper control arm mounts at the 3-bolt flange when I tried to drop it in with them on. I removed them and have yet to fit them with the engine in the vehicle. I've been working at my leisure with a lot of stuff going on which has made it a slow process, but I am in no hurry as I wheel my 94 and the amount of wheeling I've been doing lately has been cutting into my time to work on the 1UZ substantially.

Last I talked to Superrunner in email, he was not making anything for the conversion anymore, but that was months ago.

tru dat. I called the guy yesterday and he acted like I was stupid. He kinda laughed and was like no, we dont do anything like that. Doesnt sound all that advanced to me. Thanks n8 for the reply Im gonna explore that option, Im waiting for a reply, but will most likely get a bell from down under and find a wheel to modify over here or try to get superrunner to hook me up. What ever iI do I need to do it quick, Ive sold my three other vehicles and need to get this runner runnin cause Im fixin to relocate.

Should only take a few hours when I actually get down to it, but I'm waiting on some CNC idle time. Sometime in the next week or two methinks.
