Trying to get FOG lamps to turn on *independently*, still....

So I posted this a few days ago and got some good links to this mod, I finally got around to trying it and i bent both of the skinnier silver spades on the relay and ran the other end of the "jumper" wire to the 10am tail light fuse and still could not get them to turn on w/o the headlights. Did I bent the wrong spades? If so, which one is it on a 2000 limited? I was affraid to experiment with the other two b/c I didn't want to fry anything like the relay, etc. Any suggestions?

You should have continued your original thread so this thread doesnt have to start from the beginning again;

Are you not only supposed to bend 1 spade?
Also did you make sure your parking lamps were on when you turned on the fogs?

What I mean is did you put the parking lamps on when you tested it. If you are using the tail fuse as your relay power source then your parking lights will have to be on to charge the relay.

yes, i did turn on the parking lights, w/o turning them on the tails were not on, its where the fogs were getting power from so yes, i did turn them on. i'm a bit puzzled.... unless disabling the drl messed with this mod or i bent the wrong prong?

Have you checked your fog fuse?
Also have you unplugged your DRL? If so, plug it back in and try. If nothing works then you have to go to the next type of wiring steps in the links posted in your first thread.

look here.... https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f127...4runner-75177/

also read the the update at the bottom of the post for 2000 models. i have a 2001ltd so i did the one for my year and it has worked for me flawlessly except i tapped power from a different source so i can turn on my fogs as long as i have acc power on.
