3.4L Swap w/2nd TRD supercharger

What amount of body lift is needed to do the swap with a TRD supercharger without modifying the hood?

You're gonna need to cut a huge hole in the hood, then maybe with 2-3 inches of body lift, you may be able to squeeze it in.

What rig are you putting it in? Sometimes no extra clearance is needed....that's the beauty of the aftermarket supercharger

By the way, Welcome to YotaTech!

I am doing the same swap into a 2nd gen 4runner and atleast 1" is needed or a cut out in the hood and a nice scoop to cover the hole.

Olharleyman - will you be cutting your hood or going with a body lift? If you go with the bodylift can you let me know when you are done that no hood modification is needed? Or if someone else has completed the swap with only a body lift can they let me know what body lift they used?

Actually I am going with a 2" Chevy cowl hood after cutting the hole in the hood and doing the 1"body lift to get rid of the full lock turn rub of my 35 x 12.5's.

I will end up have 4" suspension and 1" body lift but it is going to be just a mall crawler from now on and tow rig when needed for my 93 SAS runner with 36's.

You could buy a Hilux TRD hood scoop and make it functional on your hood.

Well since he is in Australia he has access to a special TRD edition of the Toyota Hilux that comes with a killer package.

I wish i could get access to one but they only sell them in Australia. And only on certain packages.

2" BL without cutting hood (bonnet for you mate). I fit mine in with a 1" BL, but I had to remove the underhood insulation and some of the cross bracing. It clears by 1/4".

Roger Brown (4crawler) will make custom BL kits. I'd probably get a 1.25 or 1.5 inch BL if I was doing it again. http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/ForSale/ProductLine.shtml

I bought a 1.5 from him and would recommend him to anyone looking for a good quality lift. However, I don't have a SC so I can't give you any advice on that.
