Red face 5" Trail Gear Springs.....Now What Shackle???

hey guys.....ran into a problem when i put on my new 5" TG springs!!! i put on the springs, u-bolt flip...and i used the stock shackles....well now the shackles sit on the frame which means i have ZERO up travel and ride is....well, bad! so i need to know what u guys think my best option is for a shackle....im guessing a TG wide body un-braced shackle.....also i dont want any more lift which im afraid that i cant avoid that! any help would be great...thanks!!!

General rule of thumb is add an inch of shackle length for each inch of longer spring. Likely yours are 47" long, stockers are 45", so +2" shoould do the trick:

Or if you want to figure out in detail:

I'm in the midst of placing a TG 5" rear kit. It came with 5" shackles, but we decided to bump it up to 6" shackles. This is on top of mounting the shackle hangers up on 2 inch platforms to begin with to try to get the 5" rear equal to the 4" front. For perspective I have some pics with the 5 and 6 inch shackles here:

So my thinking is the TG shackles might not make you that much higher but would work with the spring better.

Measure the spring length and compare that to your old springs and see what you come up with.

Then a shackle about that much longer than stock is what you need. Wide body or boomerang design helps with clearance around the body mount bracket where the shackle hanger sits inside of.
