I love the green 4Runner's - if it was white I would understand... I have a Diamond White Solara that will be getting paint after the engine swap is completed. For 4 g's I can think of a lot of other ways to spend the money (supercharger, tires, wheels, countless other things). Is your paint really bad?

I think what they meant is the wait for the shop to do the work!

oh yes, i used to work at my uncles bodyshop, it would take a month for us to do a weeks worth of work, it was ridiculous. i still think its BS, we were able to punch it out jobs in a week or two but it always took us more then needed.

we could freakin sand and prep an entire car in couple days. prime and paint in 3-4 more days. buffed and waxed by the end of the second work week. but it ended up getting dragged on do to other projects.

well damn..if it costs that much..i'd have Maaco do the paint job...whatever color you want..then i'd have somewhere else clearcoat it..if i get my '86 repainted thats how im gonna do it...have a body shop around here thats GOOD with clearcoat..and all the Maaco jobs i've seen have clear coat problems..not paint problems..

I was at Freebird a few months ago getting sum estimates and i saw a smashed up 4runner going to get a full paint job. i asked and they were doing it for about $4000-$5000 and they said the painting process would be done in 1-3 weeks after the body was put back together.

for $4000 does that include door jam's, under the hood ,firewall ,wheel wells and the rear door jams? There's nothing like a really nice paint job then open a door seeing the old paint in the jam's and it just kill's the new paint no matter if you never open the doors again you know it's there and it will bother you till the day you get them done.
