Junkyard bulb hunt

Looking to swap my interior lights in my 4Runner to blue...and LEDs are expensive.

Any junkyard swaps i could look for? I know my 4Runner uses #74 and #194 in the cluster and dash.

Could i grab bulbs from another vehicle that uses #74's and #194's?
If so, anyone know a vehicle that came with blue dash lights?

VW MK4 Jetta's and Golfs/GTIs, 98-2004 I believe all had blue dash lights. Probably going to be the most common. I don't know what the #'s mean that you posted though.

Not meaning to offend, but dude...I replaced my bulbs with LEDs for around $30. Digging around a bunch of dashboards for used bulbs...doesn't seem to be worth the hassle or time.

Just my 4 cents.

I kinda have to say I agree. Dig further. There is soo much cheap import crap that looks decent nowa days. How much is your time worth? I hate dashboards!!

If you're using blue LEDs, though, they tend to be splotchy. You want Superbrightleds WLED-5x LEDs. The actually have 5 LEDs in one housing covering almost 360 degrees and give a very even lighting.
