Do I need new fuel injectors?

I'm having my engine rebuilt, and am just wondering if I should have a new fuel injector(s) installed.

Does an 86 4runner have more than one?
Can the shop easily clean it while it's out?
Should I just replace it/them?

I would say not to just cause they are expensive and easy to fix down the road if you have to. You could however put new O-rings on and if you really want have a shop equalize them for you that would be a bit cheaper than all new ones. And yes you have 4 injectors for the 4cyl and 6 for the V6

It wouldn't hurt anything to have the shop send the injectors out to get cleaned and flow matched. The place doing the cleaning will let you know if any are not serviceable and need replaced. But it is not cheap. You can ask your mechanic about it.
The 22RE has 4 fuel injectors and they are very easily removed when the intake is off the engine, and may even be removed already.

I think that's too far for the turnaround I need. I'll look into having the cleaned.
