Selling the '80

ok..do the decision has been made...we're going to fix a few things on my '80..then sell it...and we're going to fix up our '86 ext cab 4x4..and its going to be mine...(its NICE)..first off...im switching back to the stock exhaust on my '80 so the header and stacks are coming off....will the header off my 20R fit the ext cab's 22R motor...if so..then how much long is the '86 ext cab truck compared to my '80 shortbed..that way i can have an exhaust shop put a little more pipe on the stacks...so i can still use them on the '86..the exhaust was $160 so i want to keep it..im also keeping my tires..my roll bar..(will it fit in the '86 bed) and the 4 aux. lights that i have on it..the '80 is getting the tailights fixed...passenger seat mounted and seat belts put in...exhaust manifold gasket...lots of misc. small things fixed...if anybody is interested..i live in Vian, OK send me PM if interested...will be a little while before we put it up for sale anywhere...i'd rather it go to one of you guys than some joe blo nobody...thanks for the info guys..i hate to see my truck go..but its just not as reliable as the '86

Depending on how much you need to put into it for repairs and the (realistic) price you expect to get for it, you might be better off parting out. If you go that route, I'll put dibs on the t case.

i had a guy offer me $2000 CASH for it one day...but i said no because my dad said no...so the money is realistic..there was one in a town north of mine about 30 miles that sold for $2500..and it had a bad motor...and the body was alll kinds of rusted up...and it had some crappy tires

Ive obviously never seen your truck in person but ive seen alot of pics, and read alot of stories.. Its in pretty rough shape man you gotta admit. Id say its worth $700-$1000 if its running/driving and good to go. Doesn't mean you wont sell it for more im just doubtful you will get the 2g you are looking for.
I get people all the time offering me money for mine, ive even said "Sure" to a few offers but I know they would never actually show me the cash.

idk what yall are talking about..i've 5 or 6 people talk to me about it...i got 2 guy s comin to look at it sometime...and im thinking about trading it for a $3000 4wheeler..im always seeing somebody on here buying a truck that is complete trash...blown motor..rusted out body..rusted frame..the only thing wrong with my truck is that its old..and 95% of it is stock..so things are going to break...electricals is about the only thing wrong with it...it runs like a striped ape...and starts right up and gets about 20mpg..but..with it being so old...parts are just going out left and right..so i need something in better shape..hence the '86...

it always varies what your market is, but i only paid $1400 for mine (yeah, i got a deal) but it has decent paint, very little rust, and i drove it home... been running non-stop ever since, worst electrical problem is the blinker bulbs were wrong.

if you can get 2k for it, then great.... but i'd be pretty surprised.

Al

I think island yota is right in the ball park price wise regarding your truck. Go re-read some of the threads you have started about your truck and you will see what we mean.
Best of luck with your sale...

Id give you probably 500$ for it, its a trail rig, thats it, body is too beat up to have a nice shiny paint job, mechnically its in about the same shape my van was, Which I sold for 650$.. and it has been wheeled hard I'm guessing, but if someone wants a cheep trail rig, I would point them your way.
