Power Steering Question *Pics*
1986 Toyota Truck 4x4 w/ 22re- Not sure if this is the engine that came in the truck. I am nowhere close to the first owner. I am a novice mechanic but want to learn the ins and outs of my truck so I'm attempting to put it in myself.
Purchased a power steering system from individual. He said it would work in 86 thru 89 4Runners and 86 thru 88 4wd trucks.
In my pictures below do the red arrows indicate the bolts that hold the power steering pump onto the engine block? If so they don't correctly align up with the pump I purchased. It pushes the pump pully out way too far forward of the pulleys on the harmonic dampener plus really doesn't align the bolts up correctly. (excuse the oil mess, oil pump seal went out and it's a mess currently).
Any help would be appreciated.

I am thinking I am on the wrong side of the engine entirely. I see pictures of the pump sandwiched between the distributor and the alternator.

yep and good luck on getting that mount on there.......... it really does suck it took me an hour to finger that one out you have the alt and power s mounts plus you gotta get them over the water pipe it was hard and i did it on a engine stand then i got it lol yeah its easy but yet i had the alt braket on and that was hard long story short...............
take off the alt, the alt bracket then bolt the ps mount and then the alt mount i be leave i think im right but cant remember i did it at about 4 in the morning and that was working all day and then all night i was tired have fun its not that bad or hard to do it
