I know I'll probably get crap for thinking about this but, has anyone ever put a 2.7 into a v6 2nd gen? My 3.0 is an anchor now and I am having a hard time finding a reasonably priced 3.4 MT w/ in driving distance. I was also thinking about the 2.7 b/c of better gas mileage (maybe) and to offset the lower horsepower vs the 3.4 maybe a low boost turbo? I have some stuff laying around and could fab up an exhaust manifold etc... So if anyone has any comments let em fly! Thanks in advance--ROB

 

3.4L swap will be way easier to swap in

 

Also consider that the 2.7L makes almost the same power as a stock 3.0L I THINK it is 6 less horse power and 8 pounds of torque less. I think it would be a great swap and a turbo would make that thing scream. The main difference is where the power comes on the 3.0L has most of its power down low and the 2.7 L is way up there (4+rpms)

Do it so we can have a nice right up on this forum about that swap

 

Just curious... does anyone know if the 2.7 bolts up to the 3.0 trans or is just a pipe dream... Im still not sure what Im goin to do w/ the truck but whatever I do I will be venting about it on here
