thinking of parting out

I was thinking of parting out my 1992 4runner as I am trying to sell it and the market here isn't so good right now.

It is in mechanical great shape, the body has the typical rear wheel well rust.

It has a 2 yera old Arm bumper & 9000ib winch.

The question is - do you think it is worth parting out or is it better to sell it as a whole?

Personally I would try to sell it whole just because I wouldn't want to go through the hassle of taking things apart and shipping the big items. Plus you're going to be left with parts that nobody wants that you will have to get rid of.

Yeah, try to sell it whole, but I can tell you for sure, that that bumper would go fast. If I had the funds I would be all over that.

Can I ask why you are selling?

You could sell your 3.0 for something like $800-1000. Winch and bumper not sure but some big money's. You could sell your lift for x much depending on how many miles are on it.

With doors, windows, little motors for the window's. handles, tires, rims, seats, I am sure you could sell just about everything.

Trust me though, you will hate yourself when you have to ship everything out...

after parting out my 97, i will tell you parting trucks out is a PITA. you have flaky people from craigslist and people want you to ship huge items. i dont mind running down to fedex to ship out small items, but when it requires me to steal a pallet i draw the line.

I'm selling because my place was starting to look like a car lot. I have a 03 Sequoia, 03 4runner, 89 Supra, and the 92 4runner. Not to mention the other toys, 3 quads, riding mower, 2 seadoos, utility trailer and a 30' travel trailer.

We got rid of the 93 camry to my neice - then she crashed it - looks like she might make money on the deal - I guess that what I get for giving her a deal at 35% of what it was worth.

so we still need more room and my wife won't drive it. It is getting harder to find places to wheel around here in a truck - quads are still OK for now - so I think that most of my wheeling will be on quads now.
