Question 22R won't idle after cruising on the highway

It has been doing this for awhile, well since i've owned it, just over a year, and I'm going to be driving 2000 miles across the country next week, soooo thought it might be a good time to run it by all yall knowledgeable folk. Is there some kind of carb linkage sticking? Some times it seems to happen after doing any wide open throttle driving like playing on the ice too, which leads me to believe throttle linkage. I have to go back to my sports car heel-toe braking type action to keep it alive.

usually idles at 800 to a 1000, not sure, no tach. But when I say it won't idle I mean it just dies, like it dies as I'm coming to a stop sign, then I need to restart it, but usually I drop it in gear while I'm still rolling , then I heel toe it to keep it alive.

Mine was doing that when the idle was set too low. It was at about 500rpm. I had to give it gas at a stop light. Once I turned up the idle it quit doing it.

Mine idles just fine driving around town or whatever, but after highway driving or other WOT driving, it just idles down to nothing.

I had a dodge pickup with issues with idling, all it was was the fuel filter =x Pretty crazu how the smallest part can cause such an issue, had a volvo 850 turbo once that the thermostat went out in, thing would accelerate itself, id be at a light and bam, car would accelerate to like 2k rpm and id have to catch the brake quick or get tboned =x less than a hundred dollar fix lol...crazy cars

That's gonna be a carburetor issue. My Toyota doesn't have that problem but my 67 chevy had a straight six w/ a 1bbl carb. What would happen is the bowl would overfill because of a bad float adjustment. It doesn't have a problem with WOT because its using this abundance of gasoline. Then once exiting the freeway, the bowl overfills (literally like a toilet bowl) and drips down the carburetor and into the intake.
