50 watt HID vs OEM 35 watt HID Installed

I installed the hard to find (and expensive) Philips DL50 50 watt HID bilbs with Retro-Solutions 55 watt ballast into my FX35 w/TSX lens swap and o-ring spacer color mod projectors. They are remarkably brighter with no more glare than before. My cam isn't the greatest and they are brighter than depicted. Below are some comparison pics between the 35 watt and 50 watt with and without my HID fogs. The HID fogs add foreground light needed since I lost some being lifted:

OEM 35 watt HIDs WITH HID fogs:

The following are all with 50 watt HID and HID fogs:

i was the first one here with the 55watt hid kit from ww.retro-solutions.com , i had them on my 96 base 4runner, and it was the 5000k bixenon kit, since that car was totaled i took them out and put it on my dads 07 tacoma lb dc, and i tell u its more brighter wit the clear lens. https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f2/p...6-base-128147/
since now i have a 07 sport edition 4x4, i also upgraded to the 5000k 55watt hid kit from retro-solutions. and its so nice and bright and straight.
anyways u like the high output kit? its a good difference.

I can see that a 50/55 watt HID "kit" in the halogen housing would have even more glare than the 35 watt kits. I have no glare with the projectors.

As far as color temp and brightness. Here are the specs: 35 watt=3200 lumens (brightness) 4200k (color), 50 watt=5300 lumens 3900k.

Yes....the FX projector bowls are know to produce a bit more "yellow" hue as you can tell on the bottom of the beam pattern. Some people on hidplanet.com think it maybe due to the brass shield inside. And the HID fogs covered that up anyway. By adding the o-ring spacer, it cleaned up and produced a nice blue cut-off line with nice flicker. It's hard to tell from these pics though....

Nice setup, it looks well done. At first I thought this was another lame HID bulbs in the stock 4Runner housings. Your setup looks good.

looks great, what i want to see is the 55w hid in the proshe progectors.

Also, did you mod your stock fogs to HID (like i plan to) or are those differnt fogs?

I thought you'd never post the output pics, but I finally found em! Looks good man. I'm impressed. A little further down the road I might look into upgrading to 50w, but my 35w setup works great for now

Oh, and I love your LED tails... Those are on my list as well, after the lift
