let us know what you do for wiring up the elockers.... i haven't quite settled on how i want to do it... running it locked for now... you may have to clearance the front third to clear the passangerside spring, i switched several of the bolts on the motor to flathead allen, and broke out the grinder some. i need to find a elocker equipped rig to steal some wiring from. cut the bottom out of that front housing while your at it!

i was hoping to use a factory ecu and wiring. i have most of the parts [diff harness, ecu, switch] but need to find the plug that fits the ecu. really i'd like the whole wiring harness form ecu to firewall plug. haven't found a parts truck to score one out of yet.

make or scource a skid for the elocker motor. mine has taken quite a few blows, yours is low pinion right? that might give it a little more protection. on the high pinion it really sticks out and is asking to get wacked.

trim the bottom out of your housing while its stripped. i think i gained a bit over an inch under the third, deleted the drain plug and converted the two lower studs to 'drain' bolts.

I had not seen this thread before. Very Cool. I did the 4" TG springs on the front of my '81 Trekker and have got the 5" springs to go in the back, just need to find time. I hope the springs settle a bit. The rear install seems to be pretty straight forward. Any tips?

E-Lockers are great. I have one in my '05 Taco. I got the e-locker skid plate from Sky's. Their design appears to be pretty much a clone of what everyone else has. Definitely get one, mine as saved me already, cheap insurance.

Wow! I hadn't seen that. He's always the one grumping at me to put mine on when he's grinding.

Gotta go out and slap him around some

Very nice work Yoda. I wish I had seen this thread the other day when a guy was on here thinking he could buy a bolt on 7" of lift for his 79.

Dave, time for your son to sign up here on the forum

His rig is looking good.
It has come a long ways since this old picture from our summer jam back in 2001.
Gosh, pre YotaTech days.
