Better late than never - T-15 is on

My TJM T-15 finally arrived yesterday, and I got it installed last night. It's not 100% done yet (I still have to do something with my grille, and I think it can be lined up slightly better), but it's good enough for now. I'll look into the little stuff when I have some more time. Pics are here. And here's a teaser...

Looking good!!

With everyone getting the TJM's lately is sure making me want to get one.

Must concentrate on 1 car at a time, and right now its the celica.

Looks good. What's wrong with the grill?

There isn't one... just the chrome outter ring. It's not a big deal for now, but it'll start to bug me after a while. Might put a painted 96 grille back in... try to phase out all the chrome.

I wanted to do the same. When I upgraded my grille I did some experimenting and I painted my old one to match the color of the truck. At first I tried scuffing up the chrome with sandpaper, but then I noticed I could peel it off. Well, I opened a can of worms on that one. Three hours and several cuts on my fingers later, I had most of it off. The paint job never came out too good anyways. It had an orange peel dull finish. If I ever come across a non chrome 99+ grille, I'm having it done by a pro.

Looks great . Wish I could swing one also, but I am dropping big bucks on a home purchase this year, not much $ or time for the rig right now.

Looks good Jack!

Oh, when you get more time to deal with the small adjustments, haha, I've had mine on for almost two months now and I said the same thing after the install. I haven't even touched it since, I figure I may do a body lift someday and I'll just do it then. plus mines only maybe an 1/8" gap bigger on the drivers side than the pass side, probably because when I hit the deer, the stealership body shop didn't get the mounts perfect. oh well. Looking goo dude, and you're lights are on too! cool. when's the winch coming?

Dunno yet... the wife OKed a custom rear bumper AND a winch last night when she saw the TJM (and I explained that they were each about $1000 too). We have a vacation planned next month, so not much happening until then. Plus, we are looking to buy land and start building a house... I suspect that will drain our funds quite a bit

Sure did. I suspect the 3-stone anniversary band she's been talking about for 6 weeks will suddenly become a main topic of conversation.

yeah, once I got my bumper, then $200 lights, and now roller chest and chest for tools and fixing to order some stereo equipment, she's started pointing out and researching triathalon road bikes for her races and started talking more seriously about Eco-Challenge since her adventure racing team qualified and might get invited to compete. So I know what you mean. The only thing I told her was, "make sure if you do Eco-Challenge to take lots of pics of the Playboy babes team."

Looks great jackson, man I don't know how I'm getting by without one of those.

Keisur, your wife does adventure racing? How did she get in to that?

home or car stereo gear? I'm big into home audio, so if you're going that route, I'd love to hear what you are looking at.

Sounds like you got a pretty cool wife - I wish my wife was into athletic/outdoor stuff like that.

She's always been into the activities encompassed in it, but when we moved to Houston we met some people that competed and she could blow any one of them out of the water with her abilities so they invited her into their little club. hehe. now she is team captain and sets the pace. don't be asking me if she's in shape an alot of crazy questions like that, haha, because she is and I don't meet many chicks that fit. the only prob I have with her racing is that, they have the philosophy of "take one for the team" which usually means taking a good spill and getting up without tending any wounds and continuing. so she always has bruises and I'm sure people think I beat her, yea right. as long as she lets me buy things for the runner I won't touch her, !

That's cool. Has she ever thought about the Xterra Challenge (I think that's what it's called... a trail run, mountain bike ride, and I think a 3rd event... something in the water probably)... it's basically and off-road triathalon. I'd love to be able to do one of those.

Keisur,
Does your wife have a sister? lol

Actually I'm going out tonight with my buddie's fiance's twin sister. That should be interesting. My friend and I already have the same color 4Runners (he copied me on that one) now it's my turn to get even!

Yea, she does everything, 50mile trail run races, mountain bike races, triath's, road races, etc. she's done the MS150 here every year since we've been in this sh-thole of a state. I usually run the 5k fun runs with her, but that's all I can do before I get bored.

good luck on your date, oh, and don't forget the jimmy-hats
