My NEW Baby....Opinions Welcome

Hi to all,

I am a new member and I am very excited that I have finally received my Surf from Japan and I wanted some opinions on it from the experts as I am relatively new to the 4Runner/Surf world. This is a 1997 2700cc gas and I hope I dont regret not going with the diesel but too late for that now.

Can anyone tell me how high the lift is that she has? The tires are 35"

I have NEVER had a lifted vehicle and so I would appreciate any advice on maintenance and also driving precautions.

Also, are there any other thoughts about this year model related to mechanical positives or negatives?

Thanks so much guys and please let me know what you think!! :-)

HERE IS A LINK FOR VIEWING MY SURF:

Very nice, I like it! I'd say 2" lift by the looks, and I think you'll still like it with a petrol 2.7-litre, though some here in the US would sell our left arm to get a diesel..

Good point, probably got some body lift in there too since there's not an obvious 4" bracket lift sticking out underneath.

Hi Guys!!

Thanks so much for all of your comments. I just LOVE the hell out of it so fae but I am having to get used to the handling.....it is not like the minivan I have been driving for the past 3 years.. :-)

Any tips about maintenance for my new beast? General Issues? Suspension Issues? Any and all advice is welcome and much appreciated!!

I am thinking about adding a Jaos Brush Guard and Jaos Mud Flaps.....when I get some money...The Bank of Skylacker is closed for renovations haha.

Thanks again guys and keep the comments coming!!

"oh ya y the hell do you have 4 rearview mirrors?"

I'm pretty sure the extra mirror (3 mirrors not 4) is required by law in some countries.

4" body is probably right. They have crazy high body lifts in Japan for some reason.
