i have a 92 toyota truck with the 3.0 and i wanna put 4 inches of lift and put 33 12.50 BF goodrich mud terrains on it would them be too much for that motor? it doesnt have alot of paower to begin with. any way some peoplr with this motor can tell me how to get any power too?

 

Yes, it will be fine. I got 33x12.50 mud terrains on my 91 with no lift, and it still does okay. With Four inches of lift, i personally would throw on some 35x12.50s. If you go 33s now, you will regret later not getting 35s. The engine will be underpowered, but it is still very capable, especially if you crawl on trails in low. You're call.

 

what do you mean by underpowered

 

like slow as a dog. no power on anything involving a hill. is it a manual or auto?

 

If the stock gear ratio is maintained, the engine will be forced to work harder, but some 4.88s would do it.

 

i personally am going to buy a set of 35s that will be interchangeable between my 91 pickup and tacoma. I don't mind the loss in acceleration due to the fact that i drive tractor trailers and am used to going slow anyways.

Drop in 5.29's and 35's. 4 inches with 33's is overkill. Like Tacoma728 said, you'll regret 33's with that much lift.

With those gears, you'll be about stock power wise, so about like you are now. No performance loss.

If you want to stay with the BFG's, you'll be looking at 12.50s.

Unknown. That will depend entirely on your wheel backspacing.

you can find Toyo Open Country MT in a 35x13.50 if you want that wide, 35x12.50's will work on an 8" rim too

 

Again, still will depend on your backspacing. 10" will be more likely to rub than 8".

 

With my Pro Comp stage II 4" lift I run 35 x 12.5's x 15 on 8" rims with 3.75" back spacing and 5.29's on my 90 4runner and yes you will have to do minimual trimming on the pinch welds behind the rear of both front tires.

It took me about 5 mins with a whizz wheel to trim mine. I went from the front door line to about 1/4 way up the welds on the wheel well and it works fine no rubbing except when stuffed pretty good.
