ECU V6 3.0 compatability

Hello, I posted this same ? in the newbie section and havn't got much of a response so I thought I would try again. I have a 1989 SR5 4x4 that I would like to replace the ECU . My ? is what ECU's might interchange. Its got a 5 speed M/T, 3.0 V6 3VZ-E , The #'s on the ECU in it now are 89661-35191 3VZ NH. I was getting a code 22. I have replaced the temp sensor and temp switch and short of running every test on ohms and voltage and removing fuses ground wire ,ect. The code will not go away and the check engine light won't go out. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Rob P.S. I have seen a few ECU's on Ebay and if I thought they might interchange I would try one. (what years and #'s might be the same)

You'll have to dig.. someone on here and on pirate there is a photo of 22RE ECUs, years and information - might give you some indiction of interchange. I think it had the 3.0L listed also.

If you were to try it w/o the listing, I'd buy something as close to my year as possible and with the same transmission...

Interesting that they'd be so different. Your ECM is missing a heck of a lot of pins for just one year different. Wonder what Toyota added between years?
