Finally 255/85/16 on my 99...

Got this rig last October and had only 83,359 miles on it frm the bay area. The previous owner never drove it much as she bought a Prius. One of the things I noticed were a bunch of spider webs and also a wasp nest on the air filter box. I just want to thank many fellow 4runner owners on this site for their help. i have learnt quite a bit about my rig from this forum. With the previous set of tires worn out. I decided on a set of 33's/285 at least. So finally I have OME/toytec lift and 255/85/16 BFG MUDS. Hardly any rubbing and with Tokicos. Overall very satisfied and thanks to Brian WabFab for all the stuff. Next installing sliders and getting the gold emblems replaced. And the mods and adventure with my rig continues...
HOPE this works....

I concur!
Love that color and that size tire! The two tone is way cool and pretty rare.

255/85 (depends on tire brand) is generally about 33.4 by 10.
A 285/75 is about 32.8 by 11.5

I like the extra ground clearance and grip of the 255. Check out www.expeditionswest.com for some write ups on the effectiveness of different tire sizes.

Thanks for the compliments guys and SOAZtim, FYI after seeing your setup on the forums, i was convinced to get 255. as for the limited trim I was very fortunate to find a used set of 98 limited complete set fender flares and had a friend of mine bolt it down for me. Trust me it was not easy as my 99 is not a Limited but a Highlander version I believe.

Do you not like the idea of making your 98 look like a 99? New lights at all corners, new bumper and grill. Just something to think about.

I know now the speedo is off by like a little for example if I am driving 75mph its showing about 70. With ur TRD suppercharger you won,t have problems.
