Question high beams won't turn on

hi i'm having light problems as well, i have a 88 4runner with the 22re 5 speed. and the problem i'm having is that the high beams won't turn on. at first i thought that it might have been the headlights, so i changed them for the HELLA halogen conversion lamp. which did increase visibility, but i still need the high beams when i go to baja or drive in the middle of no where. i changed the sockets also, thinking that they were to old and that that might be the problem. but still no high beams, any suggestions, or has anybody had the same problem and was able to fix it, please help

It's probably either the switch, or the relay.

ok, thanks everybody. the problem has been fix. checked the whole wiring. everything had current. then i looked for the relay, found it. my dad is good with electrical things, but he was busy. cleaned it, and tapped it with a screwdriver and WOALAH!!! now they work, but and they are REALLY good lights. i got the HELLA conversion halogen lights. and i got people doing light switching because they are bright. best thing of all, they are street legal in all states.
