91' FI PickUp rotates but won't start.

Here's the story:

My truck was on E, the little red light was on and I didn't have time to put gas in it, so I parked her for the night. My driveway is on an incline. The next morning I go out to start her only to have it rotate, slowly, with no start. I immediately figured it was out of gas (incline not helping) and went and got 2 gallons. I put the gas in and it still only rotates, slowly. We roll it down the driveway and get it onto the street to see if that helps, nope.

Any ideas as to whats happening here? It was running fine the night before! Do you have to prime 91's when they run out of gas? I can hear the fuel pump working. Maybe the fuel filter is clogged? Fuel lines clogged?

Any advice and thoughts would be greatly appreciated guys!

Thanks,

John

is it cold where you live? if so.. gas might have frozen itself in the line.. OR your filter got dried up froze

might have sucked some crap up from the bottom of the tank too. after cranking it pull a spark plug and see if its wet with fuel. If not then its a fuel delivery problem (clog/freeze, etc) if it is it is probably just water/bad gas that got sucked up. If so you can try push starting it, which usually can blow all the crap out.

thats true too. if the starter doesen't get enough power it can spin, but not enough to overcome the spring and spin the engine, or even spin the engine but not fast enough to start. probably worth trying to jump it or push start it, and see what happens.

X2 to all. If it is cold it's frozen, otherwise check battery.

Start with the cheapest of the options. Jump the battery with another truck OR swap the battery with said truck.

The chev we have here had its battery go south, it wouldnt even take a jump/charge. What a pain that was.

Well I charged the battery and that doesn't seem to be the problem. I guess something's frozen. Hmmm... I'm not really sure what to do.
