someone on here found a locking knob that replaces the latch... Can't remember exactly but I thin k he just took the latch/knob into a locksmith or homedepot or something. I'd like to find the same thing so I can lock my GB when the top comes off.

I don't know about others, but I like my current console. The glovebox is what needs a lock.

Since the door on the glovebox is PLASTIC, what good will having a locking latch do? You could pop it open with a cheap screwdriver in 1 second, lock or no lock. Save you money.

Anybody can get into anything with enough time and the right tools. It would keep people from walking up and snooping. Some may think twice if it's locked.

Sure, anything can be opened....but the important thing is "enough time and the right tools". Scumbags that steal are lazy, they look for the easiest way. If a thief has a choice between trying to break into a lockable console like in the photo 4Runnerx3 posted or your "locked plastic glovebox", which do you think they would pick? I'm no thief, but the plastic door looks way easier to open. Just my opinion.
