Fuel Pressure Gauge (22re)

Fuel Pressure Gauge (22re)
The FSM shows to check the fuel pressure by attaching the gauge where the cold start injector is located.
This requires a gauge with a banjo fitting. Every parts store I walk into give me a funny look when I describe this to them. Basically, they don't have the adaptor I need.
A buddy loaned me his fuel pressure gauge but all the adaptors look like they are meant to slide over some type of shaeder valve.
I certainly don't want to have to by the SST from the dealer.
I've read RB's writeup on how he installed a full-time gauge in the rail. I'll most definitly tackel that this winter, but for now I just want to get a reading.
Any thoughts on where I might locate the adaptor?

There is an OTC part number for the banjo adapter...(OTC makes / sells the Toyota SSTs)
No one has it.
I tried ordering it from OTC - came back - not available.
I cant find my spare fuel rail right now or Id double chekc the measurements.
its like a 6mm or an 8mm banjo bolt.
Another method is to go off the FRONT banjo bolt - but thats a weid one (like 12mm x1.5) so its not as easy to do.
The EASIEST IMHO is to get a FUEL FILTER "double" banjo bolt. I *think* thats like 10mm.
Then get a 10mm banjo to -3 AN adapter (Earls has em) and go from there.

B&M makes a fuel pressure gauge that can screw into a larger 12mm banjo fitting. It's about $35. I've put mine onto cars before for diagnosis. I dunno how hard it would be to install on your runner, it depends on the space available. It certainly won't fit on the c.s. injector, that uses a much smaller banjo bolt.
Whatever you use, make sure it's EFI rated (at least 75psi) because the 'normal' fuel pressure gauges for american cars go to around 15psi, and won't work with EFI.

I put one on my '85 by tapping and threading a pipe thread fitting into the back end of the fuel injector rail. Into that I screwed an electronic pressure sender (15-100psi) and ran that to a gauge in the cab. Works fine:

I'll soon be swapping that out for a digital gauge.

Luckily, my Toy dealer is going to help me out and loan me thier gauge overnite
Any chance you have pics of the rail and the sender unit installed.

Sorry, did not take pix when I did the install. And due to the location, it is not visible. I just drilled the steel cap on the end of the rail, tapped for 1/8" NPT, screwed in a brass nipple and soldered that in place (cap is somewhat tin, so wanted to seal it up well). Then threaded a 1/8"-1/4" reducing elbow on then the 1/4" NPT threaded sender with it facing down (due to clearance issues).
