Sounds great. Do you have a glamour shot of your engine bay? (obviously crank shaft won't be visible, but I'd love to see the rest of your work)

^quite a few ppl downgrade their thermostat. hmm.... not sure why ppl do that...

you know itll just take longer for your engine warm up, right?

btw, can you get some pic of that lip kit you got?

 

the thermostat was downgraded due to supercharging thats also why he has 2 step colder spark plugs (IK22). it keeps high gear low RPM ping to a minimum.

 

thats NOT goin to keep the engine cooler and prevent knocking after long periodof time, itll just run to whatever the fan clutch temp is rated. so in the end, it will work the same as the stock thermostat(180 or so) but will take longer to warm up to proper temp.

to get the engine temp to lower to work w/ taht 160deg or lower than stock, the clutch fan also need to be rated at a lower temp.

on a side note, if too low of a temp, the ecu will never get into closed loop mode.

what i am sayin is that the engine will be cooler at 160 but it does not mean that will stay there forever, thus stated previous post as "longer period of time." as efficient the radiator can be, itll stay around 160 for awhile until the temp reaches by the engine loads and the clutch kicks in. we all know the clutch temp rating is not made for 160deg, its made for 180deg.

comes to a second thot, since the fan always turning, the 160deg thermostat may just work.

Wouldnt the motor warm up to 160 deg F, then eventually settle around 180-200F ? ...

If the T-stat opens sooner just takes longer for the motor to warm up to operating temperature.

And what the heck is a 'colder' plug? A spark is a spark to another spark, what gives?

Ok, got a question.

I see that the crank pulley helps, so why don't they make a replacement for all the pulleys (power steering, alternater ect...)? wouldn't that add a lot more?

Or do they but it is just more $$? If they had a full set that is something i would look at getting.

so that set that is for the supra are you saying it will fit the 3.4 or just showing that they make it?

I have done this before on a corola and it did wounders for the low end.
