Tires are about a year/year and a half old. Oil changes pretty regularly. Im thinking I might be looking into brakes soon. What should I do exactly? Just pads or do my rotors need replacing based on mileage? I have zero mechanical ability so I will be paying for any and everything. Unless otherwsie directed to do so, lol. Thanks

 

Next time you get an oil change have them check your brakes. You are probably fine and would only need new pads on the front if anything.

 

Son of a.....I posted this thread right after I got BACK from the oil change. Thanks any way. Front pads huh? Ill look into that. Anything else I should worry about at this mileage?

 

-drive shaft regreasing.
-replace transmission fluid.
-clean MAF sensor.
-replace differential fluid.

if you plan do services to your vehicle, then you need to know how to properly put it on jackstands. safety goes first.

brake service is not something you want to tackle first. cehck youtube.com b4 tackling.

 

Well I am having my tires rotated, brakes inspected and transmission flushed and filled Friday. Im alos going to have them do a physical inspection to let me know if anything else needs to be done.

 

check your owner manual and see if like mine it says at 80,000 go to toyota and get your 02 sensor replaced for free parts and labor. I just want to know if they still have that in there manuals. I tryed to get mine done manual in hand then they came back and said it was a matter I had to take up with Toyota of america and they would not do it with out me paying for it then if oked with toyota of america they would reimburse me.

 

Timing belt will be due soon. 60k for 96-98 and 90k for 99-02

 

perhaps a coolant flush also. esp if its the original coolant

 

Next on my list then:

Coolant flush
Differential fluid flush
Timing belt relaced

Ill have to check on the o2 sensor in the manual.

 

Screw the 02 sensor, wait till it goes bad its way too expensive to care about if its not broken. Start saving for a t belt, it will cost you at least 500 no matter where you go, make sure you do the water pump too dont be cheap. Whenever you get your brakes done make sure they resurface the rotors, it will prolong the life of your pads and rotors and make any squeals go away.
