update on rednneck bumper

small update getting a free arb compressor set up compressor solenoids wiring etc free from my buddy said he could get enough air out of it to make it worth him time for on board air he had no tank just compressor
yeah for me

here are some new pics of my rig

added the air fitting to see if she would hold ...... no problems put in 200 psi to see if the endcaps would blow off while standing back bout 25 feet

let the air out now will wait and see what other fittings / plumbing ill need
when i get the arb setup
cant wait been looking at train air horn to really get em to scatter the bumper and the flat black rattle can does a good job of that now

also lincoln lock the rear the same way that they did here

and added 2 pieces of round stock on the spider gears sorry no pics not touching my $ 1500 digital camera while covered in gear oil

So what happens when that tank is full and you say... get in an accident or hit a tree in the woods and it gets a good enough dent to throw the volume of the tank off that bad?

Rednecks dont think of that kind of stuff! And depending on how think the tube is, and how strong the welds are, its a pretty small chance the tank will blow.

Thumbs up

as far as specs kinda what i had laying around or from a buddy

the tube is 6inch pg&e gas line that i got from a buddy stout as hell measuring the tube it is 1/4 " thick wall

the brush guard was of a small truck bolt on type (not any more ditched the bold and welded it up )

the reciever hit was off of a full siize pickup drawtite version cut to fit

the end caps are also 1/4" thick 4 beads welded and ground smooth to ensure airtight seal

the d rings 5/8 round spec are 12000 pound working load dont know the breaking load guess i will find out

holds air pressure good plan on getting a presure releaf valve when i wire in the arb compressor

plas for the tank are airing tires and air train horns

and as far as hitting something cant wait

the paint job is a lowes special .98 cent flat black sanded off the toyota stick crap and sand the paint to scuff it up the cab took six cans

easy to fix if i scratch it

even with a welded rear diff (temp) will be my spare the spooled third is being built

it is pretty tam on the pavement except in a parking lot inside tire drags

as far as cornering and bumpy roads it seem to be more predictable the the open dif (note i have had both a locker and a spool in other vechiles)
