1988 V6 truck, cannot move transfer case shifter???

I cannot shift my transfer case into 4 wheel drive. Even stranger, it looks like the shifter knob is very far to the right, maybe even further than when it is in the 4 high position. It worked great about a month ago. I had the truck towed because the clutch went out and I was thinking that somehow the transfer case was damaged during the tow or perhaps when the clutch was replaced?? Any ideas?

Did you try shifting it after going in gear . are you stuck in 2 HI. Mine is hard to get in 4 LO. If I find Neutral then i can get it in 4 LO.4 hi no problem.

when the clutch was replaced, they did not put the T-case shifter back in the correct position. Take it back to the shop, and have them correct the problem.
