GOODYEAR MT/R 285 (dirt cheap)

I just bought some Good Year Wrangler MT/R 285/75/16 off of Tire Rack for $143/tire. Shipping was only $23.00 (total, for two day confirmed delivery) and you get a free $50 home depot gift card.

In chicago the lowest price I have been qouted was around $1100 out the door. So $627 + install ... is dirt cheap. This might be a glitch in their system .... I dunno ... get in on it now.

Wow a TJM bumper, and new tires all in one day .... I must be dreaming ....

I would say the 1100 out the door total was a glitch in the system unless you were talking about tires and wheels. the tires are only about 200 each which would bring the total to around 875 out the door in my neck of the woods for just the tires. if that is the price for the tires alone then I got one hel-l of a deal for 1100 for my set of 285/75r16 bfg mt's (185 each) and pro comp xtreme wheels (120 each) which included mounting, balancing, road hazard and liftime balance and rotation at 4Wheel Parts.

The cheapest I was able to find them locally was $229/tire locally, plus mounting, and 8.75% tax ... this was from the goodyear dealer.

but like I said earlier ... hard to beat $627 shipped.

If I wasn't getting the TJM bumper from mike .. I might have looked into some wheels too ... maybe in a few months.

The tire shops that I've checked with out here are outrageous. I'm looking for some 32" Deuler AT's and they're $145 local. Tirerack has them for $102... it's $50 for shipping, but it still comes out lower than buying them locally.

Some with some Mickey Thompson wheels... same difference between local and online.

BTW, how did you get shipping for $23? You must be close to one of their distribution centers.

I got my 285 MT/Rs from tirerack for like 140 each which compared to 4WPs was a steal. I tried to get Goodyear places around here to price match, but they wanted to add so many other fees like the shipping price etc so I just went with tirerack. It was a little less than 900 shipped 2nd day Fed Ex for 5, which isn't a bad deal at all.

I got them put on today .... sweet sweet sweet .... I will have pics posted tomorrow

just another little FYI ... Just Tires signed a deal with Tire Rack, and they will remove your old tire, mount and balance the new one for you for $22/tire. This includes lifetime balance (and therefore rotation as well)

I can't stop staring at the truck, it looks almost perfect, just waiting for the TJM to come in. All my worries about gas milage, increased braking distance, ABS ... all out the door. It was worth it.

Keisur-
most of the thread was for 35" and 37" tires for about $160 at costco, walmart, etc. and then at the end someone mentioned 31" for a daily driver for 90-something dollars.

Rob-
you noticed huh .. I was sitting here and just adding up the total cost of how much I've spent on this truck, just in mods .. it's rediculus, considering I've only had it a year and half now.

but wait till next week when my new TJM-15, and sway-away coil overs come in.
