Building bumpers again. A heads up.

Hi Folks. Just to give you guys a heads up. I have started building bumpers again . Started a full machine and fabrication shop in Canada and my latest project is an all aluminum bumper for 98 to 2004 tacomas. These bumpers are all 3/16 aluminum with integral lights. Almost exactly the same as my old bumper with the lights and grills but all aluminum and very light. 07 tacomas are next.
I will have some photos in a few weeks and i may have a line to get the bumpers to the States Via Seattle Washington so hopefully shipping will be alot cheaper.
Heres a link to my old bumper.

Cheers

Building bumpers again

I'll tell ya what i'll do for you & this is what i need from you. See you (give me one of your tuff sweet front bumpers) & put www.zedexbumpers.com backwards on the bumper "when looking in rearveiw mirrors it reads forward" That way i get free bumper & you get free advertising. "ok it's a deal when will you be sending? J.P I really like the way you built it tuff an has thought to making it with lights an winch window. good job no prob on selling them ,The looks will sell them self.G.J. Best bumper built i've seen.

Hi. Cost is up there around the $1500 CDN mark but if you could appreciate the amount of work that goes into them not to mention aluminum prices . All fully tig welded . No mig welding on these. Definitely NOT for the budget concious. And NO. The $1500 DOES NOT INCLUDE A WINCH.
I was tig welding up my first aluminum bumper last week and when i stepped back to take a look a tear welled up in my eye.

ya 1500 is getting up there when you add the shipping costs across country. What is the weight of the bumper? But this is the bumper for me..the tjms and arbs are good but seem to be too boxy and heavy looking. I gotta do some reading to check the compatibility of the tacos and runners mounting points....id drive out there for you to do the prototype on the runner!!

Weight? Hmmm. No idea. Its damn light i can tell you that.I would say maybe 40 lbs? My steel bumper when i have it off is probably 90 lbs or so. I can flip this thing around where as my steel one you have to go about it gingerly otherwise you will throw your back out or something.Signal lights and side lights are included. The hellas are not.
Painted? Nope. Not the aluminum ones. I am leaving these raw brushed aluminum.
If you want one for your runner give me the year of your rig. I will head down to Toyota and borrow one if they have one. I borrowed a 2004 Taco last week and they had no problem lending it to me. Hopefully that will continue.
Pictures should be up in about a week.

BTW. I built a bumper for a guy in Van a few years ago . Was a late 90s 4runner. And if i recall the bumper fit fine just the mounts were different.
Thanks.

Yep, you guessed it, I too am a fan of that bumper. The only thing I think it would need are some shackles of some sort. I don't suppose you would ever make those for an 85 4Runner?
