looks cool and all, Im diggin the diamond plate, but if your exhaust is ran well in the first place I don't think it would be that big of concern. I saw it on Trucks! last weekend and he said "an exhaust you can use as a skidplate". I mean, the idea is cool, just kinda think they overdid it.

With that being said, I wonder how it sounds. Does the casing the muffler is made out of have anything to do with the sound, or is it just internal baffling and actual size that creates a certain tone.

thats where I seen it, cant remember exactly, but isnt it twice as thick ?
but if you have to replace the muffler (like Im going to need to soon) might as well try it, I dont know what the reg. mufflers normally cost.

Just a quick search on the flowmaster site shows its right around the cost of the other mufflers, just a little bit more. Standard 40 series is 113 and the off-road one is 128.

Wonder who is goin to be the first to try one. Flowmasters are all generally pretty good quality stuff, and they all sound good, so it can't be too far off the mark.

A standard Flowmaster is super strong as it is! Something else will break before the muffler crushes.

I would think, with that thick of steel it would get real hot and stay that way for a while. I know my stock muffler was low because it was big. I replaced it with a "stock replacement" which flows and sounds better, is about half the size of stock. It is tucked up nicely. My frame would drag before my muffler.

Ric, if you need exhaust work go to Bud's Mufflers on Santa Fe Dr. They do great work and will help you with your wants and needs.
