Automatic tranny help

I have 86 4runner with automatic it shifts in all the right places and the fluid level is good, but when it down shifts and sometimes when up shifting, the shifts are rough or loose feeling. Is there anything that can be done to tighten things up? according to previous owner the tranny was rebuilt about three years ago. Not too sure Im believing this.

Trust me I no this stuff works. It is called LUCAS, and they make a trans aid. Add to your trans., and your set to go. I had a problem with mine, and 2 shops told me that the trans. was shot and needed a new one. I was told about this stuff, put it in, and 3 years later still going. Before I used it, my rig would not even move. Give it a try. Post back with info on how it worked.

I used the same stuff in my camry and it made the problem with shifting form a stop or stomping on the skinny pedal much better, but the trans was to fargone to fix it..

Anyway, called lucas stop slip and it works!

Lucas treatment is good, but don't be in a hurry to pour it in, that stuff is very thick.

Your also supposed to drain the atf out and fill with this. I figure if you drain then refill, than drain about 3x you have flushed the system and then you can add thelucas as part of the last fill.

I never drained it at all, I just added it, and all was well after that. No problems 3 years later.

i am also one to experince the same... Lucus tranny oil works i used on my 83 toyota Cressida, it has 389*** km on it.
up shifting was really ruff, did a tranny flush 60/40(atf/lucus) the ruff shifts went aways, never had a problem since, that was over 2 1/2 years ago.

just picked up a 4Runner a month ago, must say i Love the damn thing!
i'm planning on doing a tranny flush on the 95 Runner as soon as it warms up here in WinterPeg(Winnipeg).

I have tried the lucas product. I have been to several transmission shops with poor results (I dont trust them, they do not seem familiar with Toyota trannys) I guess my next and last resort will be to check with a dealer but I have had mixed results with them as well. any one have more ideas or words of wisdom??????
