more for an axle, and a tc skid, if your going to wheel hard, dont lock the front, unless you go longs or selectable locker. you can also make your own bumpstop extenders.

otherwise, mine is gonna run me 4000 with everything. im doing kits though

ive got 2000 in sas, trail gear front and rear spring kit, and 400 to get the axle setup

i will have 4.88s with an arb soon. and im not gonna lock the front for a while...
tcase gears.

Im hoping to score a winch for my birfday.

everything is trail gear except sliders/rear bumper (custom) and front bumper which will be allpro 500

the rest is misc. junk like paint, fluids, grinder discs, welding wire, and other junk.

im gonna get about 600 in tires (some used with about 80% or more)

I don't think that using stock rear springs up front will net you much articulation, which is what you are going for isn't it?

did you include gear install kit? gearing price seemed a little low, otherwise pretty good list.

just do the tg ifs eliminator kit for 1099. for the front ti comes with all that you listed plus the rebuild kits for the junk axle your going to get even if you spend 300 on an axle. I am in mine about 3500-4000 and I already had the 5:29 and detriot in the rear that price includes all the little crap you don't think about.
The build up thread is http://www.nw-wheelers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6124

I added my thoughts inside your quotes above. I KNOW you'll save money buying the TG SAS kit for $1099 as you got more money listed there with things that are in the kit. If you have questions, I'll be glad to answer them and help you piece together an order that maximizes your cash flow. Sounds like you got most of the basis covered, but always count on it costing more than you think. I know my money pit has!

Brother used the ford shock hoops on a project awhile back. Didn't work out all that good. Better options out there. Good luck on the axle it will take some serious searching but its possible. When i researched this for the 90, i was going with the TG kit and Sky manuf ifs spacer kit ( http://www.sky-manufacturing.com/ ) .
lots of good info out there just a matter of digging it up.

Go with the kits. It cost me more buying everything separate than buying a kit.

If your buying soon buy Marlins Kit. It's on sale and has USA springs. Trail-Gears springs are ok but if I had it to do over again I'd spent the little extra and got the USA springs.

I personaly like BigRocksOffRoad.com US springs. They spent the work on designing there springs and have a super spring.

On a side note. If your spending the money SASing the reg cab truck - I'd rethink it and get an extra cab to spend the money. The little extra room makes a HUGE difference.

Just my 2 pennies.

good luck....things always pop up out of nowhere and end up costing some $$. I think when I first did mine, I was about $4500 (5.29's, locked f+r, and I paid for the welding and cutting (i'm a computer geek)) but I blew up my front diff on the first trail and had to replace my rear gears 10K miles later. You should try to budget 30 spline longfields into the mix if you can. I almost think 30 spline longs should be a necessity on any SAS parts list.

Are you breaking birfs that easily? or is it axels, Never heard of this happening but I've just got into serious four wheeling about 3 months ago, are the stock ones that weak, what broke the most, bell? Ring Stub? axel? and what kind of locker are you running?

Just me - but I've wheeled my SA'ed front locked truck HARD with stock axles and 35's 3 times and never broke an axle or birfield. Wheeling smart is the key. Don't get in the gas when you're turning and don't stay in the gas when the tires are spining.

Wheel stock axles at your own risk.

Yea I agree and I belive putting down tracion with no spin rather spinning the wheels and then making them come to hault instanly will break axels birfields, high gearing will solve that so you can take it nice and slow and be technical instead of gasing youre way through, I found doing that usally just breaks stuff.
