Truck wont start tried a few things

My 92 v6 auto truck died while i was driving, worked perfect and just quit. It gets spark and i checked all fuses. I thought the fuel pressure seemed low but i changed the pump with one that i knew worked but that didnt do anything. The Fuel Filter is is pretty new and there are no gas leaks. Also i checked switched the EFI relay with one from a truck that worked and that also didnt do anything. The truck will turn over and will almost start, kind of sputters for a few seconds but then nothing happens. Anybody have any ideas for me cuz i am fresh out.

also i have 3 trouble codes
14- ignition signal
43- started circuit signal
51- switch condition signal

Im going to switch the ignition coil and ignitor for one that i know works and see if that solves anything, however i do not know what codes 43 and 51 mean. Also the Overdrive light is flashing fast but steady which i also have know idea what it means.

had similar issues (code 13, 14, 41, and 51), my wiring harness to the distributor was not seated all the way, try checking that as well as the TPS harness. o/d light flashing (when in test mode) means that the o/d button is pushed in. just turn in off and it won't flash anymore (test mode must have all accessories off).

I will check those. What do codes 43 and 51 signify, anyone know?

is there any way to test an igniter (ie measuring resistance or some such ) because that could possibly be the problem but a new one aftermarket is over 300 bucks and an oem one is much more

It sounds like a wiring or sensor issue. These are the nightmare problems on modern cars. Check for bad wires. You might want to pull off the distributer connector and check it for corrosion.
Their is most likely a way to check the igniter, but you need the service manual to get the spec. The stealership might have one, and if they dont a toyota mechanic would probably know off the top of his head. I hope this helps a little.

the only test that the repair man. gives is to ohm it. and it is usually inconclusive. meaning they will test good and still be bad or vise versa. although a bad igniter is not very common. sounds like a wiring issue like a bad ground or connector.

I did the ohm test and it was within spec but today i took a set of booster cables ran a cable directly from the negative terminal to the igniter/coil assembly and the truck does run but very crapily so it looks like some sort of nightmarish wiring issue

I have the same problem with myn 89 yota 22re. Drove great for 3 days, then bogged down and died.....haven't been able to figure the POS out yet. Have $2000 into this truck now and everything is damn near new. Wish I would have just pulled the efi off and put on a carb setup now. Keep us posted on what you find out.

try this site: http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-b...fsm/index.html

Factory manual. when you get multiple codes, most times they are caused by one malfunction which will cause the others to also malfunction and kick out a code.
