I assume you have the whole tranny and everything still attached right? You aren't literally just sitting there with the bellhousing? If that is the case, the input shaft has to come out perfectly straight. I did this the first clutch job I had, we actually had a come-along on it and it would not come out. The best bet is to have a jack under the tranny and a jack under the t-case and use them to make it perfectly level. If it is not perfectly level up and down and side to side, it will not come out. Once you level it, it will slide right out. Just make minor adjustments and wiggle it around while pulling, it will come out when you get it just right.

I removed alot of these. If I remember right there are hollow dowels on the block 2 if I am right. I do not remember using another truck to remove the tranny!! Lift the tranny and wiggle if the does not work. If that does work repeat. BTW, do ya have tranny jack????

When I did my Tranny I put a couple of tires on both sides of the truck and laid a ladder down on them under the truck so it came out the other side, crossing under the tranny eight behind the front wheels. One person can lift on the ladder holding up the tranny while the other person under the truck can give the tranny some "gentle" knocks with a dead-blow soft faced hammer to help loosen up the dowels. You might need a block of wood to sit on the ladder to reach up under the truck to push on the tranny.

I don't have a tranny jack and this was what I came up with. I used one piece of an extention ladder and laid a couple of wood blocks on it so it would reach up through the frame rais to push up on the tranny when it was lifted. You could lift and wiggle it a bit until everything got straight and slid out. It wasn't easy, there was a lot of wiggling, pulling and even a pry bar gently once the dowels came loose but I think that was more because the pilot bearing was siezed on the shaft and getting caught on the clutch.

This is kind of hard to explain..
