hello I'm new here and I've been through some of the threads trying to figure out what the largest tire is that I can go with on my 96 Tacoma. I'm looking at going from a 15" rim to a 16" rim and I'm good up to there but when I start reading all the numbers that everyone posts for tires I start to get lost. I'm used to the numbers for street tires and getting a little confused with all these other numbers. Anyway what I would like to do is go with the biggest tire I can without having to do any mods as far as a lift kit right now. I have to many other things that I need to do to my truck first. thank you p.s. not sure what gen my truck is so if someone could tell me that I would appreciate it. again thanks for the help

This site might help. on the right hand side it shows the smallest and largest tires that you can fit on a stock 96 Toyota Tacoma. it is Largest tire size: 265/70 R16


Here is the link so that you can check it out. generally a 30-31 is the largest that you are going to be able to fit without rubbing or a lift.

If you plan to wheel it, stick to 31" max. You can probably fit 33" but they will rub with suspension flex and full steering.
