Exhuast Leak driving me nuts and i cant find it.

Ive been trying to find an exhuast leak forever now. It sound like its coming right out of the back smog tube hole on top of the exhuast manifold. I have a new manifold, new gasket torque to spec properly, new smog tube gaskets, new flange donut gaskets. Anyone know what it might be? Its a very small yet very annoying leak. HELP!!!

Anyone know how to seal a manifold gasket if the head is slighty warped?

you could have it surfaced or break out the silicone for a quick fix that may or may not last long

Try putting a small amount of seafoam or ATF in the carburetor when it is running (like you are trying to break off some carbon) to make the exhaust smoke and see where the smoke comes from. I have an exhaust leak and when I did a Seafoam treatment it made the leaks really obvious.

You can buy exhaust cement for sealing up holes and things like that, it would probably work well to seal the manifold gasket. I do not think that any silicone could hold up with the high temperatures of the exhaust. Fireplace cement might also work.

I've had good luck with Permatex red gasket sealer on exhaust. That and the Ultra Copper Permatex works well on my big block Ford exhaust manifolds. However, silicone isn't a fix for a warped manifold. You'll have to have it machined to correct the warpage. You could try using an exaust manifold gasket and putting Permatex on both sides of the gasket before installing.

ITS A MIRACLE!!!!! The number 4 spark plug had blow by so i replaced the plug and it fixed it. On top of that i almost thought i stripped out the holes when i went to tighten the new plug down. DONT EVER RUN AUTOLITE PLUGS IN UR TOYOTA. NGK RULES!!! thanks for all your help and the gasket from, remflex is awsome!! even if u dont have any warped manifold they seem liek they will last a long time.
