A340H Automatic Tranmission and crawler gears...Now it CAN be done!

Well, for everyone who has been waiting to do this forever, your time has come and your patience has paid off.

This applies to 95 and earlier 4Runners and Pickups with the A340H automatic transmission. (not Tacos or 3rd Gen 4Runners with have an A340F)

Inchworm is now making an adapter kit that allows the A340H t-case to be separated from the trans housing. This kit permits the use of gear drive cases with ANYONE'S dual case adapter.

Here's their blurb:

Good thread going about it over on Pirate:

And for those of us who have opted to take a more difficult/expensive path prior to this release, this news is like a kick in the teeth.

That is awesome for those with the auto in the older rigs. Now they don't have to do an engine swap or at least trans swap to get a crawler. It's about time. I wish they had come out with this before I traded in the 93, but oh well.

Interesting marketing move for a tranny that is at least 10 years old.

I already solved the problem, but this looks a bit cheaper.
