Got some work done today, I added the new intake manifold made a bracket and added the fuel regulator and gauge, (waiting on fittings) staged the headers and the valve cover, they still have to be painted or powder coated, and put the alternator and one of the coolant pipes on. I placed the Weber on so I can see what kind of bracket I need to make for the linkage to work.
And I got my smittybuit bumper back from powder coat

Seems everything is a challenge lately, even to smallest things, anyway, got a few things done today. I got my fittings for the gas lines and regulator and hooked it all up. Also I received my 20r thermostat housing and it fits, well almost. My earlier problem with the housing facing the fuel pump was because the housing was from a 22r Now the new 20r mounts up and clears the fuel pump. But, seems the aftermarket housing holes were a little off so I had to open them up a bit so It would fit, but wait, there's more. So now that the bolts line up it seems there's not enough room for the bolt by the neck of the housing! Are you kidding me........... So now it's off to the milling machine to put a relief in the neck so a bolt would fit and I could get t a socket on it, man I tell ya what a PIA a simple thermostat housing. Just the way things have been going

Oh, that crude sketch on top of the valve cover is my bracket for the carb linkage, no way I was going to do that today!
Added a few things today. The alt bracket, pulleys and the fan. Also added the painted thermostat housing. It seems I have to take the engine off the stand to put my rear main seal in, I don't have enough room with it on the stand, that will be tomorrow. Then I will be able to put the oil pan on as soon as I decide what gasket I want to use, not crazy about the cork. Any suggestion guys?

Wow, another good day at another salvage yard. He had a 86 Toyota pickup with a gray interior had had the 3 vents I needed and door trim.
Cost me $20 for all of it. Guy on ebay wanted $30 for 1 vent!

On the carb . . . if it gets hot up where you are you could run a poor man's fuel cooler (older Ford power steering cooler) while it's all apart.

Dining on it? No but right now my kitchen counter has all my dash parts on it. I'm cleaning all the parts, the ducts, and all the dash parts and vents. I will stage it in my living room and this way i don't waste time trying to figure out what goes where when it's time to put them in. I think I'm going to try and find a radiator shop and see if they can check my heater core, withit still in the plastic housing, anyways a long way off,I haven't even started the body work yet!
No, not to hot up here hottest last year was around 100, my kind of weather, I like it hot
