windshield washer pump NOS replacement question

windshield washer pump NOS replacement
I'm preparing my '85 EFI SR5 for winter, bought some wiper blades at Costco today, Goodyear $7.99 each and then a $3 rebate. Used my last scavenged washer pump up earlier this summer so I need another one (soon) I've decided to buy a new pump motor assembly but the only part number available now as far as I can see is 85035-12190 which is shown as replacement for a Cold Spec part number 85310-89107.
My question is does the Cold Spec part only fit the 2.5 liter bottle? or will it work in a 1.7 liter bottle too? I'm not sure which one I have, I think it's probably the 1.7 (not Cold Spec) since this is a California truck.

Now I've bought the cold spec 2.5 liter bottle assembly, it includes a new cap and the Cold Spec motor bushing which has a filter in it. I also bought the Cold Spec motor/pump assembly.
Here are pictures to show the difference from the 1.7 liter standard windshield washer bottle and the standard motor/pump assembly.
The bracket that screws to the top of the bottle and the radiator support is standard and works on both bottles, the lower post uses the same rubber mount bushing too

Here are the pump motor mounting grommets, stock on the left and Cold Spec with the filter on the right. The Cold Spec pump fits both bottles, but you must use the stock grommet in the smaller 1.7 liter bottle, there isn't enough room in it for the longer Cold Spec grommet.
The next picture is a side view of both bottles, you can see a little kickout sump in the Cold Spec bottle for the longer grommet.

I guess I reached the post size limit, continued here.
The Cold Spec pump is slightly longer and has a nice long lead on it, reaches the wiring harness easily. The outlet hose barb is a little beefier than stock, but the same inside diameter

If the bottle is good, I have pulled pumps out of Sienna vans and just spliced in wiring. The rubber seal you are showing is most likely brittle on your 85, but the Sienna vans are alot newer and are still pliable. I get mine from the boneyard. I am sure alot of the other models would work as well.

I've gotten a lot of parts from Toyota Parts Zone, they are usually a lower priced source of Toyota parts. One good thing about their site too, is when you enter your VIN number, the site lists parts that are guaranteed to be correct for your model. In case you're interested in them, here's a link: http://www.toyotapartszone.com/ .

I was reading your '85 xtra cab build thread, lots of nice info there, I also use silicone grease on plug boots, hoses, anything rubber to metal to ease installation and allow removal, helps to seal really well too. I also put a little on electrical connections that can get wet, keeps them nice and clean and shiny.
I found that instead of paying big money for a tiny amount of silicone grease, I could buy a whole 14 oz cartridge for less than $20. It was great for the polyurethane bushings it was originally intended/purchased for, but they only take a little and the stuff doesn't run out very easy, so I had a ton left to use on other things. Best to have a dedicated grease gun for this stuff though, very few solvents will clean it up or out.
googled this for example;

Thanks for the link, that will be alot nicer to have and in the long run alot cheaper. Thanks for the compliment on my build. In the 88Runner link below, I transfer alot of common fixes I find on these trucks to its build. I have them listed on the first post where to find alot of common fixes. You have to go by the post number as when I add something, it sometimes changes the page number, but the post numbers stay the same.
I see you scavened the last of your windshield pumps. If you find a pump frozen up, I have ran some leads from the pump straight to the battery and reverse polarity every 5 seconds or so and got them freed up that way. 2 of the pumps I have done that to are still working great. That is one of the fixes I found and have it listed there as well.
