You can read the updates for each version and see if you need them or not and decide if you want to update or not.

I usually update if there is a security issue in the update.

Anybody using Thunderbird also? It is the email client which goes with Firefox. I've been using it for a while now and like it.

kinda weird how it kept everything in there, thought I'd have to reinstall the extensions. I tried reinstalling the bandwidth tester but it didn't do any good..

Might seem a bit slower browsing too, but it's hard to tell.. wonder if the "tweak network settings" still works with this version.

Yeup, it doesn't look healthy does it? It's failing on a beta I'm running as well.

This is a downside to the extension concept. They can be pretty "tightly coupled" to the browser core, and if that changes, then they're kaput. The folks behind FF have always said that the extension authors need to keep up with the browser changes; i.e., it's the extension folks responsibility to make sure things keep running.

I'd check back on the general extensions site, or look to the Bandwidth Tester author's site for updates. I'll bet they'll be coming soon.

And, that's one of the upside of the extension concept. The browser core knows how to link in the extensions on the fly... No re-install necessary.

Yeup it does... it's just setting options in a config file. But, like you found with the extensions, you should find that they're still set like they were before the update.

My bandwidth tester freezes on me too. It was like that before I downloaded to 1.0.1 too.

If you guys are itching for a bandwidth tester, this one tends to be one of the "known good" benchmarks:

I don't have any info on the extension plugin...

I just tried to run the band width tester and it froze on me.

Everything else seems to work fine. I haven't noticed any
speed difference, but I am not into speed.

It must still be a little buggy.

Lots of times the extensions won't be compatible with new versions of Firefox when they come out. If the author is still developing the plug in, they will probably release an update.

Running 1.0.1 here, no problems.
