Firefox or Internet Explorer?

opensourse all the away...
what do you use to browse the net?

seeing as how they just found a HUGE gaping security threat in firefox, i don't think it really matters. internet explorer here

I've never had trouble with Firefox so I always use it, I've used Opera a little.

AND for the whole day or two before the patch, they made it clear how to avoid the vunerability.

As long as IE is the most widely used browser, it will always have the most vunerabilities. If FireFox ever overtook IE, it would be come the attackers' prime target.

well the bug was there since 1.0.3 was introduced. They didnt fix it THAT fast, just made a much bigger deal then MS does when IE has a problem...

Regardless I still you Firefox. Its pretty nice, it seems alot faster then IE. Of course I have firefox tweaked and IE is not, I dont even know if you can tweak IE.

There are some pages that dont work too well with Firefox so there is a nice little addon you can get. With a right click it will bring the same page up in an IE window. Which is really nice IMO.

I was having alot of problems with Firefox so I cleaned all the cookies out and now it seems to be working 100x better. So I'm pretty happy with it.

Sometimes it locks up on me when I have like 3 or 4 pages going and 3 or 4 tabs open in each one. Thats kind of irritating since I'm usually doing work and when I locks up I need to start over again. But that doesnt happen very often. I still get alot of spyware which people keep telling me it doesnt allow spyware, but that is BS because on my desktop IE has NEVER been opened except for windows updates and I still have a few spyware things going on. Once again another not so big deal. I just run spybot every so often.

The open source means nothing to me. So that aspect isnt very impressive to me but all in all I like it a little better then IE. So I'd recommend it to someone that is a little computer savvy, not that you have to be but trying to explain to someone that uses a computer once a month is about impossible.

Firefox all the way. The only time I've ever used IE has been when I've had to for work. I've been in the Mozilla camp since before there was a camp to be in.

Opera until I hit a page that it can't render, which with version 8 seems to only be my bank site bill pay applet. Then Firefox. Haven't ever used a perfect browser, but I miss the features in Opera more than I mind it's quirks when I'm forced to use something else. I know for a lot of folks the quirks are too much.

Firefox, I tried Opera 2-3 years ago, but it didn't work on some of the forums I used, switched to Firefox ever since. Also switched to Thunderbird for email, I like it much better than OE.

That hole was plugged within two days. Even that threat was only a threat if you had the install software automatically checked.

Stick with firefox
