just installed winxp 64 on one of the hds in my puter and boy is there a diffrence in games much smother better framerate

Awesome. I plan on building a 64-bit system this summer. Looks like I'm gonna have to splurge on a new OS as well.

OSX (10.3.9) here also running on a 5 year old Pismo Powerbook. Still can process video and satellite data at reasonable speed. Gonna pick up Panther when I get a faster Mac. I go weeks without restarting...Just wake her up, she recognizes my wireless network and she runs. No viruses, no spyware, no problems.

i realize this thread is dead, but... I would have to say linux, unfortunately i am forced to use xp much because i use macromedia and Photoshop a lot and have to use those products for classes, and i have found they don't play well when ported to Linux, so i am forced to use a duel boot with gentoo and xp

I would say XP Pro... but I have never used Linux... I think I'm going to install it on one of my older computers and try it out...

hehe careful, it can be addictive... if it does not drive you insane trying to figure it out. but at least it the good kind of addiction... the free kind
