Adobe Illustrator question
You pro graphic design people,
I'm gradually learning more and more on Illustator, but came across something today that stumps me.
The idea of what I want is a yellow background with some bar items on top and them name just below. As for the items, the pictures originally had a blue background, so I cut out the background in Photoshop and had just the item cutout with a transparent background in a PSD file. I opened those item PSD in Illustrator (chose the maintain layers option) and drug them into my original file.
On screen, they look fine. I see the bar items and it seems like nothing surounds them except the underlying yellow background. But when I printed my work, the bar items each have a different yellow color surrounding them to the point of the smallest square around each corner. See the pic below.
The background yellow I'm using in Illustrator is FFFF00. So i went to Photoshop, added a layer underneath the item cutout and filled it with FFFF00 paint. I then put these back in Illustrator and figured the added yellow-match would blend seamlessly with the Illustrator background. Nope. Same problem. It looks clean and fine on screen, but when I printed it, a funky lighter/paler yellow surrounds the bar items.
I'm still sorta new to Illustrator, so maybe this is a simple fix, but I'm stumped. What gives, and how can I fix it?

the photoshop file i made the item cutout in and the illustrator file i put that cutout in are both in RGB mode.
weird...this problem has been happening at work. i just printed it at home, an it came out fine, the background yellow is uniform throughout. i guess that would make it the problem of the inkjet printer at work, but that's strange it'll print correctly except just around the item pictures
